the only time my gears make any noise is on deceleration when i let off the gas on the freeway. So if i'm cruising at around 75-80mph and then let off the gas to coast or come off the off ramp they'll get a little bit of a whine to about 55-60mph and then they stop. the noise is about a 2-3 out of a 10. very well worth it i thought to myself. the only problem i foresee in the future is running out of gear, as in not being able to stay in gear long enough when i go to bigger turbos. hope this helps. i had a guy who specializes in 4x4 rock crawlers put them in for me. HE charged me $250 bones and that included taking the diff out of the car and putting the gears in and putting the diff back up in the car. make sure they checked back lash and the whole bit. you also pretty much have to make custom shims for these gears. i drove my car at 35mph for about 15-30 minutes. let it cool over night, drove it again at 60mph for an hour or so, went back changed fluid, and now like described before, i only have noise at deceleration from freeway speeds.
